Printmaking as an art form is beautifully complex and has a rich, interesting history. While viewing an etching, or a lithograph is rewarding, the processes used to produce great works of art often remain a mystery. The Martin Museum of Art boasts an exciting printmaking collection including works created in woodcut, engraving, etching, and lithography among many other techniques. This exhibition focuses on several printmaking methods and the processes involved, using examples from the Museum’s collection. Several prints created by students in Baylor’s Department of Art are also on display. These prints, along with their corresponding plates, also help to illustrate the complex processes involved in printmaking.
