McGregor Founder’s Day!

September 14 @ 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Free

McGregor Founder’s Day is a long-standing tradition in McGregor, Texas, a small town just 12 minutes outside of Waco. The event kicks off with a HUGE parade celebrating the city. Classic cars, horseback riders, motorcycle and jeep groups, and the marching band with dancers all parade through our Historic Main Street!  Local artisans and food vendors line the streets and offer home-made crafts and fashions during the morning and afternoon. Businesses on Historic Main Street are open, meanwhile, dance teams, cheerleaders, and other performance artists and bands put on shows for your entertainment throughout the day. There are also plenty of games and activities for children to enjoy during the day including a petting zoo, carnival rides, and a beautiful baby contest!  And don’t forget to sign up for the $1,000 payout washer tournament!  Held each year during the third weekend of September, McGregor Founder’s Day offers a full weekend of events. The festivities kick off with a barbecue cook-off and concert on Friday night. Saturday begins with a 5K race and parade in the morning. Finally, the festival closes out with a street dance accompanied by live music performed by popular local artists. Visit www.mcgregorfoundersday.com for more information.
