Waco Walks: Downtown Walkability Walk
May 24 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pmFree
What makes a downtown walkable? What discourages people from walking? It’s not just about sidewalks. There’s more to it than you might think! In this downtown walk, urban planning enthusiast Adam Tate, will guide us 2-2.5 miles through some familiar downtown streets pointing out details that make our city more and less conducive for walking. He’ll also talk about why walkability is an important consideration for a prosperous downtown. This will be a great walk for learning to be good advocates for walking in Waco!
When: June 15 at 8:30 AM
Where: Front steps of the McLennan County Courthouse, 501 Washington
Got questions? firstname.lastname@example.org
Dogs: Dogs are invited on the walk, but they MUST be on a leash and you MUST come prepared to scoop the poop!
Weather Plan: We plan to walk rain or shine, so if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella. In the event that it is a terrible storm or something happens and we have to cancel, we will send out a note to the email list. To subscribe to the email list, click here: http://eepurl.com/cG7kdj
