ABOUT THE BANDS

Reverend Horton Heat: With a blast of rootsy rock and punk music, Reverend Horton Heat has earned a reputation for more than 30 years for entertaining crowds with its brand of “psychobilly” jams. Both revealing and reinterpreting the country-blues-rock roots of American music, frontman Jim “Reverend” Heath is often dubbed the “godfather of modern rockabilly and psychobilly,” and is joined by Jimbo Wallace on an upright bass. The Dallas-based band is currently on a year-long, nationwide tour in support of its recently released “Roots of the Rev. (Vol. 1),” which Forbes described as “retracing the group’s rockabilly, rock and country steps, taking listeners on a wild, lo-fi ride” and “putting a unique spin on sometimes familiar cuts.”

The Polyphonic Spree: For nearly 25 years, The Polyphonic Spree has blown away crowds with a mind-bending mix of instruments and sing-along harmonies. Based out of Dallas, this diverse and colorful symphonic rock band is led by Tim DeLaughter, the frontman of psych-pop band Tripping Daisy. The Polyphonic Spree features more than 20 members singing as a choir and playing instruments such as the flute, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, piano, guitars, bass, drums and electronic keyboards. Over the years, the band has traveled the world, performing at festivals and dazzling audiences, while its music has also been featured in a variety of television shows, commercials and movies. The band is currently preparing the release of its latest album “Salvage Enterprise.”
