Native American Heritage Speaker Series: The Gault Site & the Peopling of the Americas
November is a time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, histories, and knowledge generated by Native people. The Mayborn Museum is proud to present: “Native American Heritage Speaker Series” – a series of lectures from Native scholars, archaeologists, and museum leaders. This series is presented in collaboration with Baylor’s Department of History.
The Gault Site & the Peopling of the Americas
Dr. Clark Wernecke, Executive Director of the Gault School of Archeological Research, discusses new information challenging hypotheses of first peoples of the Americas from sites older than Clovis, including dating of other events, and environmental data. The Gault Site in Central Texas, a State Antiquities Landmark, is an important contributor to these discussions.
