Waco, TX (September 24, 2019) – Is prune juice one of the secret ingredients in Dr Pepper? If you know the answer, you will want to play a fun new game at the Heart O’Texas Fair called a “SCANVenger Hunt.”
Designed to challenge the Waco knowledge of both local citizens and visitors alike, the SCANVenger hunt is an old game using modern technology. Sponsored by the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau, those who answer the 31 questions correctly will be entered in a drawing for free “Waco Adventure Passes.”
There will be 150 names drawn, and winners will receive one adult and one child Adventure Pass. Attractions on the pass consist of the Cameron Park Zoo, Dr Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Museum, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, Waco Mammoth National Monument, and the Mayborn Museum. Value of the adult pass is $50.50, and the child pass, $31.50. The passes must be used between November 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020.
The game screen will be located prominently at the fair. To play, users will download an app, then scan QR codes from the game screen. Each code will ask a question that will test the player’s knowledge of Waco and Texas history and attractions. Answer all the questions correctly, and the player will be entered into th
e drawings for the free passes.
“We are interested in engaging our local residents to rediscover and take advantage of Waco’s many attractions throughout the year,” said Todd Bertka, Director of the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We hope this attractions pass will encourage families to plan their own ‘local excursions’ to these exciting and diverse experiences!”
The Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau is a department of the City of Waco.
