New LaSalle-Circle Shuttle for Visitors!
If you’re visiting Waco, you are in for a real treat. Magnolia Table, a breakfast/brunch restaurant owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines, is now open. If parking is tight in that area, we have a solution for you. You can park downtown and ride the free LaSalle-Circle Shuttle. This bus currently runs from 6:40 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. You won’t want to miss shopping at some of the great vintage shops that have sprung up along LaSalle Avenue. The bus also passes the Texas Ranger Museum, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, and the Mayborn Museum.
So, how do you do it? You can hop on this shuttle anywhere safe along the route simply by catching the driver’s eye and waving your arm. The driver will also drop you off wherever you ask. It’s all free, so you can get on and off to your heart’s content.
The City of Waco is running this shuttle as a 90-day trial, and if it’s successful, it may continue.
Oh, and while you’re here, why not take home a new friend from Waco’s no-kill animal shelter?
Check out the route below, then make plans to hop aboard and visit some of the great attractions that Waco is known for!
Has the free shuttle been successful? Is it still being offered?
Linda, we believe it has been successful so far! We are still within the 90 day trial.
When does the trial end?
May 26 marks the end of the 90 day trial.
We will be coming from Illinois the first week of June. Will the shuttle still be running then?
Hi Janet, we should know for sure by this Wednesday. We will be presenting to Waco City Council on this very subject, tomorrow! (May 15) Please check back!
Operator Evans is very good at his job! He is the bomb.
Will this route still be running next week? (May 23 specifically)
Yes, the route has been approved to continue indefinitely! Have fun! The route has changed slightly, but still goes between the Silos and Magnolia Table. Here’s a link to the route: https://wacoheartoftexas.com/map
We did not have good luck with the shuttle, but the service is a great idea. We waited over 45 min at Magnolia Table for a ride back to the market. This was on a Weds. afternoon. A shaded shelter for waiting this length of time in the heat would be a nice addition.
Holly,
We are so sorry for your experience. Typically the wait should be about 30 minutes. But as the weather heats up, even a few minutes in the sun can feel very uncomfortable.
Is the shuttle running today? 6/2/18
So sorry for the late reply! Yes, the LaSalle-Circle shuttle is running Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
I’m at the Holiday Inn Express in Sourh Waco-where do I drive to & park in order to pick up the shuttle?? I would like to go to the Magnolia table in the morning 6/13/18.
Please respond as soon as possible. Thanks
Robin Cunningham
Hi Robin, the shuttle starts at 9am. The easiest place to catch it that early would be to go park downtown, anyplace on the route, and ride it from there. For example, there is a free parking garage at 4th and Franklin, or a big free parking lot near City Hall, at 3rd and Franklin.
But you are pretty close to it where you are at the Holiday Inn Express Waco South – and if you go early enough, parking at the Magnolia Table should not be too bad.
We are on our way to Waco now. Where is the best place to park to catch the shuttle. I’m having a hard time reading the. Route on my phone
Hi Bobbie, you can park downtown in any lot you wish, but a lot of people park at the City Hall parking lot near the corner of 3rd St. and Franklin Ave., then they take either the Silo Trolley or LaSalle Circle Shuttle across the street. This is a flag-stop route, meaning you can flag the driver down anywhere along the route simply by waving your arm. There are signs for the LaSalle Circle Route and Silo Trolley both, near the corner of University Parks Drive and Franklin Ave.
I will be visiting Waco during the week of Feb. 17. Is the shuttle still operational?
Johanne, Yes, both the Silo Trolley and the LaSalle-Circle Shuttle are still operating. You can go to this link to see both maps, along with other maps! https://wacoheartoftexas.com/plan/visitors-guide-and-map/
It’s October 1 2019 – is the LaSalle/Circle Shuttle still operating?
Yes, it sure is. It runs from 9-6 Monday through Saturday.
Have a wonderful day!
