The Wizard of Oz Educational Exhibit

The Wizard of Oz is a journey of self-discovery that’s fun for the whole family! Children will discover a variety of activities as they travel from the Gale Farm to the colorful Land of Oz. They can also explore Munchkinland, The Crossroads, The Witch’s Castle, and The Emerald City all before heading back over the rainbow.

Preservation Fair

The Baylor Libraries, the Department of Museum Studies, and the Mayborn Museum Complex will sponsor a Preservation Fair during National Preservation Week. Fair is free and open to the public; however, admission to the museum is not included. The items we inherit and collect come in all formats – photos, paper documents of all types, metal, glass, wood, stone, leather, textiles, audio and video tape and even oral histories. The Preservation Fair has brought together a variety of preservation resources.…

Science Thursdays

DNA Acrobatics In the Cell. Your DNA, all 3 billion base pairs and roughly 2 meters in length, must undergo a variety of twisting, turning,wrapping, and coiling just to maintain your genetic information. What happens when things go wrong and gene mutations prevent these complex DNA manipulations? How proteins accomplish this amazing feat is only just the beginning.
