Waco Distillery Takes Top Honors

Waco’s own Balcones Distillery is no stranger to awards. In fact, the distillery itself has won Craft Distillery of the year from Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky in both 2012 and 2014 and US AND Craft Distillery of the Year at the Wizards of Whisky International Competition.  Their individual whiskies have long received great accolades and awards around the world, and now their Texas Single Malt Whisky has received yet another supreme designation.  London’s Wizards of Whisky named Balcones’ Texas Single Malt the “World Whisky of the Year 2014” as well as the “World Single Malt of the Year” and the “American Single Malt of the Year”!

In addition to the awards Texas Single Malt received, Balcones Single Malt and Baby Blue also earned Gold medals while True Blue and Brimstone earned Silver.
