Art Showcase
ARTPrenticeship is Creative Waco’s apprenticeship program for talented high school artists. The 2022 participants were challenged to create an exhibition of self-portraits as part of their professional development. This process of self-reflection and personal storytelling is a vulnerable but empowering act that invites reflection from each of us about the people we come from, and the people we choose to be.
Under guidance and support from their artist mentors, the self-portraits shared in this exhibition capture where these young people are right now, and mark a time of growth in their journey into the next steps of their lives. Step into their stories and meet the young artists behind the artworks at the opening reception.
