Colony House -The Cannonballers Run
Colony House’s sound is a madcap aural rollercoaster borrowing from the anthemic swell of the Killers to the harmonic sass of the Beach Boys to the wit of Vampire Weekend.
After the band released their 2014 debut (on Descendant) they proceeded to play over 200 shows the following year in support of it.
Natives of Franklin, Tenn, the band is composed of brothers Caleb Chapman(vocals), Will Chapman(drums), guitarist Scott Mills, and bassist Parke Cottrell. Caleb and Will are the sons of contemporary Christian musician, Steven Curtis Chapman The band began working together while in high school in 2009. Influenced by U2 and Cold War Kids. They self-released three EPs, before releasing their debut album, When I Was Younger, on July 22, 2014. The lead single from the album, “Silhouettes”, received alternative rock radio airplay, and was the most downloaded song on Sirius XM and Alt Nation. The band made their television debut on September 29, 2014, on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers.
