Hermès in the Heart of Texas: The Art of Kermit Oliver
In celebration of Kermit Oliver’s 80th birthday, Art Center Waco is pleased to present an exhibition of wearable art, a 30 year collaboration between Waco Artist, Kermit Oliver, and French Fashion House, Hermès.Kermit Oliver, a Texas postal worker and humble artist, created sixteen silk scarf designs for Hermès, each one a vibrant and intricate depiction of American culture and history.You are cordially invited to the Opening Reception for this very special exhibit: Friday, August 4, 6:00pm, at Art Center Waco. Drinks and light bites provided. Suggested donation of $10.“Hermès in the Heart of Texas: The Art of Kermit Oliver” will be on view at Art Center Waco August 4-October 14, 2023. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 11:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 11:00am-7:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Curated by Andrea La Valleur-Purvis.
